Holding On.

People should come into your life to enhance it.  Many of us allow individuals to "rain on our parades" and speak negative words over lives. We can not see pass the fog of negativity and hurt surrounding us. Like a ship drifting on a dangerous sea, we are searching for a beacon of light to cut through the dense fog and guide us towards the right direction.

Why do we allow negative people to dictate our emotions and actions? Why do we permit seasonal folks to stay annually? Some people come into our lives for a season, and they were not meant to stay. We push away the good ones because we are still holding on to the wrong ones.

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

For example, department stores and companies hire seasonal employee to help during the high volume times such as holidays and major sales. After theses sales, you won't see a seasonal employee on the floor. Department stores and companies know when it is time to release those seasonal people. Why are we still holding on?

Surrounding yourself with love and positive people.

Let Go and Let Flow!

I was watching one of my favorite movie, last night.  The movie was "Something New" starring Sanaa Lathan and Simon Baker.  Sanaa's character (Kenya) was single and looking for love. In her head, she had a I.B.M (Idea Black Man), and she had a list of things that she wanted in her I.B.M. Well, her girlfriends convinced her to let go of these rules. The phrase used in the film was, "Let Go and Let Flow" (meaning let go of those crazy standards, so love can flow freely). In return, she meet and fell love with Simon Baker's character. He became an unexpected and  a wonderful surprise in her life.

Well, the movie starked a thought in my head. I am guility of this!!! I have found myself dismissing a man because he does not fit in to my perfect idea man.  I am so sorry! I probably missed out on an opportunity to meet a good man! I have seen this movie several times, but it hit home for me, yesterday.

Ladies, "Let Go and Let Flow." I hope that you find true love!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tolerated, but not celebrated!

"Tolerated, but not celebrated"

"I want to be celebrated and not tolerated," said my mama.

Many of us have been in those relationships where we were tolerated. We were not loved or cherished. We allowed boy/girlfriends to push us to the back burner. We get upset and pissed, but we encourage this behavior and disrespect. My friend called, and she was crying about her boyfriend. He does not spend time with her, and he does not introduce her as his girlfriend. He does not have a problem sleeping over her house. Her question is, "What did I do wrong?"
Word of Knowledge:
You must be whole and happy with yourself before you enter into a relationship. You will not have to depend on someone else to make you happy. "Love aint suppose to hurt." I am older and a little more wiser. My future man should love to have me on his arm. He will not be ashamed of me. I am his Baby!!!!! I understand that you have a professional life and respect your grind. He is trying to secure a future. Remember to give your baby some of your time. Ladies, if you love and respect yourself, he will see a diamond girl.

5 Days Until V-Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 Days Until V-Day!!!!

I can not believe it.  Valentine's Day is almost here.  I am still single.  Around this time of the year, I feel lonely and sad, because I do not have anyone special in my life to share this day.  I am usually spending V-day sitting in my funk and wishing a chocolate, sexy man would give me gifts.  The next day, I go to the store and buy cheap Valentine candy. This is a dangerous cycle...LOL....

This year 2011, I refuse to be in my funk. I am beautiful, intelligent, saved, and wonderful.  There is a man out there for this curvy chick.  I am single, but I am not alone.  I have a loving family, and supportive friends around me.
